You were so gentle
How did that turn into such a fight
I hear he became so enraged
Hard-boiled eggs, suffering and pain
So many years since those days
Riding bikes, sitting in the shade
You were the beautiful heart of Uruguay
Hard-boiled eggs, the coming of age
My heart breaks
My memory remains
Your soul is real
I don’t know what you feel
You were a sign of peace
How did we write these separate histories
You could have taken your own personal stage
Hard-boiled eggs, panic and blame
So much time has passed us by
Fleeting memories still make me smile
You had a future so bright and engaged
Hard-boiled eggs, the coming of age
My heart breaks
My memory remains
Your soul is real
I don’t know what you feel
Belson, I don’t know what you feel
Belson, I only know what once was real
You were so gentle
How did that turn Into such a fight
I hear he was like a lion in a cage
Hard-boiled eggs, fear and displaced
